The Condor Press is happy to announce that several of the staff members will be participating in a program called National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. This program is a month-long and challenges participants to write a fifty thousand word novel in the space of a month, and takes place every year in November. Many popular books were actually started on this site, such as Cinder, by Marissa Meyer, as well as Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. There are two different novel groups in our class who will be participating in NaNoWriMo, as well as a group of editors and revisers for the two stories. Don’t worry, though, there will still be time for the students who are participating to write articles!
Feel free to google NaNoWriMo to find out more about this incredible program. For students who are interested but are not ready to attempt the 50,000 word goal, there is another site called Young Writers’ Program where you set your own word goal to meet.
The Condor Press is very excited to take on this challenge!
