By Coraline Crannell, Isabella Macioce, and Talia Honikman
On November 1st, seven members of the journalism staff formed groups of three or four and began the exciting, terrifying, and incredible task of attempting to write a fifty thousand word novel in the space of thirty days. It has been a hard and rewarding two weeks, and we are excited for the upcoming weeks as well.
We are now about halfway through the month, and the eighth grade group’s dystopian novel recently hit 25,000 words and currently now has 26,000: the halfway mark of our overall goal.
The seventh grade group’s realistic fiction fantasy book is almost to the halfway point as well, with just over 22,000 words. We will be working extremely hard in these upcoming days since some of us will not be able to write during Thanksgiving break.
We are excited to share the plots of our novels with you in upcoming articles!
