National Walk and Bike to School Day was Wednesday October 5, 2016! It is a day to recognize how much fuel we use in a day, a week, a month, etc. We don’t realize it, but we are polluting our Earth more and more, day by day. Carpooling, biking, walking, or taking the bus are better ways of helping our Earth survive.
As a student/kid, we don’t realize it as much, but just the little things really do help. Camila Angeles, a seventh grader, said, “I think walking or biking to school is important because, sitting for a long period of time is bad for our bodies. So, if we sit all day in school, we should at least start the day off with a little exercise.” I agree with this because kids need to not only sit, but get a little exercise too, it’s important for our development.
As you can see, walk and bike to school day is very important for people’s health and for our Earth. It is a great way to breathe in the nice air, and enjoy the sun. If you start out your day with a little exercise, it will be a great day!
