At times food may taste a bit bland and a bit unhealthy, a great way to add an abundance of taste and nutrition is to use peanut butter. Peanut butter has many beneficial effects and tastes good on just about everything. Although some people may have peanut allergies, almond butter is a great substitute. Here are 5 healthy things that go great with peanut butter…

  1. Toast

Right before an early morning sports game, toast covered in peanut butter is an amazing way to gain energy. But to not get too stuffed at the same time. Adding banana slices and honey over the top of the toast will completely explode the taste and nutrition.

2) Apples

Apples covered in peanut butter are great tasting and are also healthy. A sour Granny Smith layered in a thick coat of crunchy peanut butter is an amazing snack for anytime during the day. A cold sweet fuji apple will taste just as good. The best part about this is the abundance of apple flavors.

3) Oatmeal

By just adding a bit of peanut butter into the oatmeal mix before cooking it adds a world of flavor. This meal tastes amazing, to kick up the nutrition value, add strawberries and raisins.

4) Nature Valley Bars

Nature Valley bars are a great snack by themselves. A Nature Valley bar is a perfect to-go snack, but when staying at home this snack can be turned into something way better. Adding some peanut butter over the bar gives it a smooth feeling when biting into it. Luckily, the packs come with two bars in it ,so applying the peanut butter in between the two bars turns it into a small, crunchy sandwich.

5) Celery

Peanut butter on a stick of celery is a classic, small, and healthy snack. This is the perfect snack to eat right before dinner ,because it doesn’t fill you up too quick. Adding raisins over the top give the snack a boost of flavor and resemble ants on a log.

These are just a few nutritious foods that go amazing with peanut butter. Peanut butter is an awesome substance to add with food to give it a blast of flavor and it has many healthy values, as well.
