Star Wars Rogue One

By Sebastian Fisher and Camila Angeles

If you haven’t already heard, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is coming out on December 16, 2016. Because the movies are not made in chronological order, it is kind of hard to tell which movie comes first. Although this movie is the most recent Star Wars Movie, it takes place between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Episode IV: A New Hope.

Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones), must team up with others in the Rebel Alliance, such as Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) to steal the plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon: The Death Star! The Death Star is the size of the moon, and it is very, very dangerous. So obviously, the Rebels would want to destroy this weapon before it can cause any damage. More Rebels trying to help with the destruction of the Death Star include a droid named K-2S0 was an Imperial droid, but he was reprogrammed and is now loyal to the Alliance. So, if he needed to sneak in, he would blend in perfectly.  Baze Malbus (played by Jiang Wen) is a new Rebel character who lives on the planet of Scarif. Living on a planet filled with Imperial has made him a great fighter and helps out Jyn Erso on her goal to steal the plans to the Death Star.

Some of the new planets featured in this movie are Jedha, a small desert moon with a  permanent winter, and Scarif, a tropical planet that houses Imperial Bases (where Blaze Malus lives). Some of the new vehicles are U-Wings, gunship that can act as troop trasports for the Rebels.  A new Imperial vehicle featured in the movie is an AT-ACT walker. They are larger versions of the AT-AT featured in Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.

Many people (including ourselves) are very excited about this new movie, and based on the trailer, it looks like it will be a great movie that will surely top the charts. This movie is not yet rated but it will most likely be rated PG-13 due to violence and some language.

Star Wars fans are counting down the days to the movie, and it is sure to be a hit. There is only 2 more months before it is released, but fans are so excited to see the movie, it may feel like 2 years to them!
