As you may know Earth day is coming up this Saturday April 22. There will be music, food, booths, and much more! To tell you a little more about Earth day, it is a worldwide celebration held on April 22. It celebrates the support for environmental protection and keeping the Earth clean.
Earth day first started in 1970. In 1969 there was a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. Because of this, Senator Gaylord Nelson was inspired to organize a national celebration that teaches the public about the importance of protection of the environment. Since then, the world has celebrated Earth day every year on April 22.
