Every year the seventh graders do a children’s book their first quarter in their Honors English classes.
At first the students read each other Children’s Books that they already know. They learn the elements of plot in a story and how to create a story using them. Then the project begins. Each student creates an original story using all of the elements of plot and some of the figures of speech that they have learned. Then everyone has to illustrate each page of the story and create an image for the reader that young readers will enjoy.
Finally all of the books have been bounded together. They were displayed in the Library on the evening of November 2, where friends and family could see all of the children’s books. Everyone enjoyed seeing the children’s books and were grateful for the hard work put into the event by Mrs. Derchied, Ms. Neimroozi, Ms. Mezzetta.
