The Santa Barbara High School varsity water polo team is going to CIF Division 3 finals. The Dons took on the Northwood Timberwolves on Wednesday. The game started off in the Dons favor, but the Timberwolves caught up soon after leaving the halftime score at 6 goals for the Dons and 4 for the Timberwolves. In the fourth quarter, Northwood scored four goals bringing the total up to 10 for Santa Barbara and 9 for Northwood. Northwood had the ball for the last possession, but it was stolen by Santa Barbara Senior, Adam Coffin for the win. Prior to the semifinal game, Santa Barbara matched their season record of 24 wins – 9 losses. Santa Barbara qualified for CIF after getting first place in channel league (high schools in Santa Barbara County). The Dons will take on the Schurr Spartans from Montebello on Saturday at Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine.
